What Effects do Earthquakes Have on You and the Environment?
Earthquakes have many effects on our environment. Although some can be small, some have the capabilty to destroy things such as houses, apartments, or any other buildings. They can also wreck trees or any other natural objects. Earthquake damage can ruin the economy of the place it hit, affecting you. Earthquakes can also lead to aftershocks, which are smaller earthquakes that follow the first one. There can be one or more aftershocks. If an aftershock is larger than the main earthquake, the aftershock becomes the main earthquake and the original shock becomes a foreshock. Not only do earthquakes cause aftershocks, but they also cause tsunamis. A tsunami is a large ocean wave that's caused by an earthquake that shakes the water. Tsunamis can kill many people if they are big enough. All of these can emotionally or physically hurt you.
